Summit County's state legislators Sen. Dan Gibbs (D-Breckenridge) and Rep. Christine Scanlan (D-Dillon) will review the Colorado Legislature's recently completed 2010 regular session at the Summit Chamber's Legislative Affairs Council meeting Tuesday in Breckenridge.
State budget and revenue constraints dominated the legislative session once again, but the legislature also addressed a wide variety of policy areas, including transportation, teacher tenure, child protection, standards for utility companies, health insurance, plus business-related matters. Sen. Gibbs and Rep. Scanlan will also discuss how the latest quarterly state revenue forecast — to be released today — might impact the legislature's 2011 session.
The Legislative Affairs Council meeting will take place Tuesday, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Spencer's Restaurant/Beaver Run Resort, 620 Village Road, Breckenridge. The meeting is open to the public, and lunch will be available for individual purchase. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Del Bush at (970) 389-4685 or delbush@yahoo.com by today.
The Summit Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Council provides an opportunity for Chamber members and the public to discuss public policy issues important to our community, and specifically to business owners and managers.
We hope you can join us for this special event.
