I am responding to the recent article about Summit County possibly forcing towns to require trash haulers to take waste to the county facility versus taking it out of county for less cost.
County government should realize that we live in a free market system, and their mouse trap is not the best or least expensive. If others can do this for a third of Summit County's price, then we should let “free enterprise” run. Perhaps the county should look at why they have to charge so much more. Government always wants more money to solve problems instead of reducing costs. To politically force compliance with this speaks of Big Brother, socialism and inefficiency. Other towns also have recycling and do not charge the large fees that Summit County does.
