Copper Mountain Resort: Reporting 8” of new snow, 13 inches in the past 48 hours. Snow will continue throughout the day and into tomorrow with a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service until tomorrow morning. Tucker Mountain is expected to be open today with cat access, weather dependent. Winds expected and temps in the low 20’s.

Explore Summit field report: Not so sure about the 8 fresh inches, but there is a solid 4 or 5 inches of new snow. Snow continuing through the morning. Winds weren’t too bad. Get out there and get after it, should be a great couple days.

All 23 lifts are runing, servicing 139 trails and over 2000 acres of terrain. The snowcat is expected to run to Lallarookn today on the West Ridge from 10am to 2pm. Light snow showers this morning, clearing this afternoon. High temps today will be in the mid teens.

Explore Summit field report: Heavier snow than yesterday, but just shy of amazing. Go for the steeps! Riders and skiers are likely to find fresh lines throughout the day. Expect some terrain openings later in the day, on both Friday and Saturday. Get off your couch and get after it. While the Summit Daily News does not advocate calling in sick to work, we have heard there is a bug going around, so employers: sick days may be legitimate.
