The Summit County Chamber of Commerce has elected seven new board members who begin serving in January 2005.
New directors include Carlos Abel, Phoenix Rock Insurance/Allstate Agency, Frisco; Bob Bloch, Bob Bloch Photography, Frisco; Ken Deshaies, broker/owner, Snow Home Properties, Dillon; Jim Morgan, Publisher, Summit Daily News, Frisco; Massey Pitts, station manager, RSN Channels 16 and 13; Banks Simpson, partner, Snow Ventures, Breckenridge; and Eric Turner, general manager of The Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge, Breckenridge.
Ski Area Representatives appointed to the chamber board include Hannah Lennon, Breckenridge Ski Resort; Julie Magliocchetti, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area; Jamie Wilson, Copper Mountain Resort; and Greg Wright, Keystone Resort.
Board members who will continue to serve in 2005 include board president Loren Stone, chief executive officer of Sovereign Hospitality International LLC; vice president Kevin Mastin, The Mastin Group, Keystone; treasurer Kathleen Kennedy, The Woods Inn, Frisco; and secretary Julie Magliocchetti, Arapahoe Basin.

Outgoing board members who deserve recognition include Herb Sumerfield, retired, Verlo Mattress, Frisco; Troy Bunch, Arcadia Peak, Breckenridge; Laurie Rider, Marketspark, Breckenridge; Eric Elder, Big Ed's Fishing Ventures, Breckenridge; Carol Schmidt, Copper Mountain Resort; and community representatives, Mike Smith, town of Dillon; Tom Looby, town of Frisco; Karla Trippe, town of Silverthorne; Corry Mihm, Breckenridge Resort Chamber; Steve Bowman, Copper Mountain Resort Chamber; Gary Lindstrom, former county commissioner; and Sue Boyd, a recent representative of Summit County government.
The new chamber board will determine a program of work for the coming year during the Jan. 19 board retreat.
It will continue to serve as a "regional voice" for business and industry in the greater Summit County area.

The major committees proposed for 2005 will include a Governmental Affairs Council, Internal Marketing/Public Relations and Membership Development/Retention, which is the main focus of the Chamber Diplomats, our volunteer networking group.
The Summit Chamber will continue to focus on "business-to-business" related programs and services. Our main initiative will be to facilitate the formation of a Summit County Economic Alliance.
The chamber also will continue to serve as a major funding partner for the Summit County Information Center located in the Silverthorne Factory Stores.
