SUMMIT COUNTY - St. Anthony Hospitals announced that Jodi Chambers, M.D., will join the organization as chief medical officer effective Feb. 21
St. Anthony owns the Summit Medical Center and is building a new hospital near Frisco.
It also owns the Copper Mountain medical center as well as clinics in Granby and Winter Park.
Chambers will have senior leadership responsibility for developing physician relationships, establishing strategic clinical initiatives and advancing quality and patient safety.
"Dr. Chamber's leadership record and deep commitment to our organizational mission stood out among many talented candidates," said George Zara, president and chief operating officer.
"She is passionate about creating a system of care that honors the physical and spiritual needs of patients and enables staff and physicians to serve with excellence."
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery in critical-care surgery, Chambers is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Physician Executives and the Southwestern Surgical Congress.
Chambers received her bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, where she served as chief resident in general surgery.
Chambers is currently a member of the Medical Executive Committee of St. Anthony Central Hospital.
She is an assistant clinical professor and clinical faculty preceptor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
The general surgeon in private practice since 1989 will maintain her Denver-based practice on a limited basis.
