DENVER - Preston Wilson homered and drove in four runs, and Shawn Chacon got his first win of the season Saturday night despite some shaky moments from his bullpen during the Colorado Rockies' 8-6 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chin-hui Tsao retired Jeff Kent on a grounder with the bases loaded to end it, preserving Colorado's fourth win in five games. Los Angeles has lost three straight since an eight-game winning streak.

Chacon (1-0) allowed one run in six innings in each of his first two starts, only to see the bullpen throw it away. He wasn't as sharp this time, but earned his first win as a starter since June 23, 2003, at San Diego - barely.

Jose Acevedo allowed a run in the sixth inning after replacing Chacon, then Brian Fuentes had all kinds of trouble in the eighth.

The left-hander gave up a leadoff single to Cesar Izturis, walked J.D. Drew and gave up a run-scoring single to Kent that cut Colorado's lead to 8-6. Fuentes got Milton Bradley to pop out, but hit Jose Valentin on the hand with a pitch to load the bases.

Valentin immediately started hopping around in foul territory, then stayed on the ground for several minutes before coming out of the game. He walked into the clubhouse holding his hand.

Ryan Speier replaced Fuentes and got Ricky Ledee to fly out to end the inning. Tsao worked the ninth for his second save.

Rockies rookie Clint Barmes was 3-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to nine games and increase his major league-leading average to .455. Todd Helton had two RBIs for Colorado.

Drew, Kent and Ledee drove in two runs apiece for Los Angeles.

Dodgers starter Odalis Perez (3-1) was superb in his first three starts, allowing four earned runs in 17 2-3 innings. The Rockies got that many off him in the first inning and added three more in the second.

Perez lasted five innings, giving up eight runs - seven earned - and 10 hits as his ERA more than doubled to 4.37.

Chacon's curveball was almost too good. He was effective when the pitch was over the plate, but threw plenty in the dirt and often went deep in the count.

Chacon threw 107 pitches in five innings and walked four - three more than his first two starts combined.

The control problems hurt him in the fifth, when he walked three and plunked Kent on the hand with two strikes. Ledee had the only hit in the inning, knocking in two runs with a bloop single to center that cut Colorado's lead to 7-4.
