SILVERTHORNE - Is Hollywood beckoning you? Do the lights, camera and action intrigue you? If so, you're in luck - if you're the highest bidder that is.
The big ticket silent auction item at the fifth annual Broadway at the Summit fundraiser for the Lake Dillon Theatre, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 27, is a Hollywood Behind the Scenes package.
The winner of the package will receive a three-day trip to Los Angeles for a tour of the film production process.
It includes meeting a Hollywood casting director and observing a commercial casting session - with the option of auditioning for the role yourself.
The rest of the tour includes a stop by a few production companies where you can chat with film directors and producers and watch the storyboard and preproduction process; an on-location visit during filming; and a look into the sound stage process. The winner will also see the inner workings of a music recording studio, film editing suites and special effects company labs.
"I think this might be one of (the)best trips we've been able to put together," said Chris Alleman, performing arts director for the Lake Dillon Theatre.
Doors to the gala open at 6 p.m. at the Silverthorne Pavilion. The silent auction will be going until the show starts at 7:30 p.m. At that point most of the auction will be closed; however, the Hollywood Behind the Scenes package item and also a day spa trip item will go live at the intermission of the show.
The entertainment will be a musical revue, which will lean toward the comedic side according to Alleman, and include performances by several noteworthy entertainers. The director of the show and performer Alan Osburn (Broadway's "Les Miserables") will be joined by Jeff Gurner from the Broadway production of "The Lion King," Rick Hilsabeck from Broadway's "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and longtime Aspen resident David Dyer, to name a few.
There will also be two numbers by the cast of the Lake Dillon Theatre's upcoming show, "Urinetown."
Appetizers before the show will be complimented with desserts provided by Keystone at intermission.
Tickets to the gala - dress is Summit County formal - are $75 a person or $600 for a table of eight. Call the Lake Dillon Theatre at (970) 513-9386 to reserve a spot.
