Rabbi gives Sunday talks at major Colorado church

COLORADO SPRINGS - In an unusual interfaith appearance, Orthodox Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein spoke twice Sunday morning and also that night at New Life Church, Colorado's largest congregation: Its minister, the Rev. Ted Haggard, is president of the National Association of Evangelicals.Eckstein, founder of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, told the Protestants that both Israel and the post-Sept. 11 United States are threatened and Jews and Christians need to "reverse history" and support one another."We have the opportunity today, I would say the obligation and the responsibility, to extend love, true love toward one another," said Eckstein, whose Chicago-based group has raised $50 million a year for charities helping Jews in Israel and other nations.
