SEGESTA, ITALY - Silverthorne couple Fran and Barry Lazarus finished in fourth place out of eight teams in last Tuesday's episode of "The Amazing Race," ensuring the team at least one more week of competition.
The teams began last week's leg of the race with a flight from Munich to Palermo, Italy.
In Italy, the Lazaruses successfully found one of 16 marked clothing tags out of 2,400 pieces of laundry hanging on lines and hiked one mile to the ruins of Teatro di Segesta, where Fran correctly assembled the pieces of a classical Greek statue.
They raced to the finish line with a secure fourth-place standing, while a pair of 20-something childhood girlfriends was eliminated for finishing eighth.
The adventure reality series has led the Lazaruses and their competitors from Denver to Brazil, Russia and into Europe.
Nine weeks of competition remain in the televised race around the world. The last team standing will win $1 million.
