The recent letters for and against the Al Gore movie "An Inconvenient Truth" do not adequately address all the data and analysis surrounding the global warming controversy. Short sound bites in the limited space available for letters to the editor cannot realistically deal with the complexity of the scientific issues involved.

For a carefully reasoned response to the movie, I urge your readers to attend the Café Scientifique meeting on Sept. 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Backcountry Brewery in Frisco. My scheduled talk is entitled "The Facts and Fictions of Global Warming."
