SUMMIT COUNTY — Sheriff's officers were prepped for a slew of high-powered automobiles to make their way through Summit County today, part of a nationwide road rally set to traverse Interstate 70 as included in their itinerary.
According to Summit County Sheriff Department spokesperson Paulette Horr, deputies were briefed that the rally would blow through town, but no tickets were issued as racers sped through the county early this morning around 9 a.m.
In July 2005, former NBA star Dennis Rodman was ticketed for reckless driving and speeding while he drove a Lamborghini through town with The Bullrun national road race. It was unclear at press time whether the rally that came through town this morning was the 2007 version of The Bullrun race.
