Summit Stewardship — Volunteer opportunities abound!

Organization: Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI)

Mission statement: To protect and preserve the natural integrity of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks through active stewardship and public education.

Next project: Aug. 11, 2007 - CFI-BOEC Quandary Peak Adopt-a-Peak Project. Since 2002, Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center volunteers and staff have worked with the CFI's Adopt-a-Peak Program on Quandary Peak. This partnership is critical to ensure the trail route to Quandary's summit remains in good condition with minimal impact to the sensitive alpine tundra environment and is made possible through funding by The Summit Foundation.

Next project: Aug. 24 and 25, Francie's Cabin volunteer work days. We need help maintaining Francie's Cabin. Volunteers will be involved in lots of wood moving/stacking, some chopping, cleaning, occasionally spreading compost, trail building and other unique opportunities!
