Friends of longtime local Matty Crine are invited to an informal memorial gathering in his honor in Fairplay on Sunday.
Crine, 41, died last month in a plane crash near Erie Airpark. Crine was a flight instructor whose student was practicing touch and go landings at the time of the accident on Sept. 15.
Crine moved to Summit County in 1988, where he later started his business, Ten Two Cabinetry. Most recently, he split his time between his homes in Fairply and Wheat Ridge.
Friends will hold an gathering on Sunday at Crine's Fairplay home in his memory. The address is 41 Blue Stern Ct. in Foxtail Pines. For those who don't know how to locate his home can meet at McCall's at 511 Front St. in Fairplay between 11 a.m. and noon and the group will caravan to Crine's home.

The Summit Foundation now accepting Philanthropy Day nominations
The Summit Foundation is pleased to announce that it will again be accepting nominations to honor and recognize outstanding philanthropy in Summit County. This year's event will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Keystone Conference Center.
Deadline for receipt of nominations is noon on Monday, Oct. 15.
2006 award recipients included Bill Bolthouse, Mike and Linda Clem, Oumar Niang, Jake Quigley, Noreen Galaba, Terri Vantiger, and Jim and Maggie Cox. And for only the fifth time in eight years, the Spirit of the Summit Award was presented, in memoriam, to the families of Brad Odekirk and Rachel Anne Hanson.
2007 awards will be presented in recognition of outstanding contributions in nine categories: Outstanding Philanthropist, Outstanding Volunteer, Outstanding Board Member, Outstanding Citizen, Outstanding Youth, Outstanding Professional in a Nonprofit Organization ("seasoned" and "novice"), Outstanding Educator, Outstanding Business and/or Corporation and Outstanding Nonprofit/Community Organization.
