EAGLE-VAIL - A roll-out pass got Summit football rolling at long last against Battle Mountain Friday night.
Down 14-6 after halftime, the Tigers' first play from the line of scrimmage was a 45-yard pass from quarterback Landon Greve to Talon Roggasch. That seemed to awake the slumbering Tigers, who ripped off 35 points in the final two quarters for a 41-20 win.

"We don't like to accept failure," Roggasch said. "We don't like it when we do badly. We get angry and we try to bring it back."
"We felt like play action could be a big play for us," said Summit coach Dylan Hollingsworth, whose team moved to 5-2 on the season. "We hadn't used the roll pass. We had tried the boot(leg), and they had it covered with their defensive ends coming up the field. So we did the roll pass to run away and throw at that corner."
From, there, the Summit rushing game plowed the road. Roggasch tumbled in from one yard out for the touchdown, and Scott Campbell ran in the two-point conversion to tie the game at 14.

Battle Mountain rallied for its final lead of the night behind a 4-yard scamper from Ryan Hedrick, who led the Huskies with 88 yards on 18 carries. Summit answered with a four-play, 50-yard drive, capped by a 5-yarder from Campbell.
The Tigers took the game over with a 13-play drive - all on the ground - which ate up 80 yards and the nearly half the fourth quarter. Roggasch did the honors from nine yards out, and gave credit to the Summit offensive line.
"They did all the work for us tonight," he said.

The line gave Greve plenty of time on the Tigers next possession. The junior fired a 50-yard strike to Roggasch. Sophomore Cody Thomas scored the Tigers final touchdown.
Battle Mountain took a 7-0 lead on the first drive of the game. Quarterback Jeremy Windham found Ascher Robbins in the end zone for the early lead. Summit responded with a long march of its own. Jordan Sitkoski, who earned the praises of his coach for breaking numerous tackles, scored on a 12-yard rumble.
Sitkoski led the Tigers with 85 yards on 14 carries. The Tigers host Mountain Range Friday for Senior Night and are still in the hunt the Central Metro League's lone guaranteed state playoff spot.
