CANON CITY - Fremont County authorities say a 63-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease was found dead about a month after he disappeared.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Andrea Cooper says a hunter found Gary Lorenz's body on Saturday about seven miles from his Cotopaxi home.

Lorenz's wife reported him missing on September 25th. He failed to return home after going to check on some horses.

As many as 60 people and a helicopter joined the initial search.

Cooper says Lorenz is believed to have died on September 29th from exposure and dehydration.
