GRAND JUNCTION - A man who kept driving after a trooper in an unmarked car signaled for him to stop struck the car of a pregnant woman, who lost the unborn child in the crash.

A trooper had signaled for Logan Lage, 24, of Grand Junction, to stop around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday along Colorado 330, but he kept driving at speeds of up to 90 mph, Colorado State Patrol spokesman John Hahn said.

At one point, Lage tried to pass a tractor-trailer by crossing the double yellow lines along a winding stretch of Colorado 65 but collided with a Nissan Xterra driven by Shea Lehnen, Hahn said.

Lehnen, 26, of Collbran, was 8 1/2 months pregnant, Hahn said. Her 1-year-old son was in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries, Hahn said.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, he said.

Hahn said it was too early into the investigation to discuss possible charges.
