Q: What type of business do you operate - what do you sell, or what service do you provide?

A: I have a business which is two-fold, albeit within a similar industry. I provide full-service wedding planning as well as event planning, corporate or otherwise.

Q: Where are you from, and why did you decide to open your business in Summit County?

A: I hail from Monterey, Calif. After growing up on the West Coast I decided a change would be good. What better place than Summit County where I enjoy snowboarding, hiking and the great outdoors!

Q: What experience do you have in this field?

A: I have 15 years' experience in the hospitality industry, from restaurants to hotels, and destination management to wedding planning.

Q: What sets your business apart from other similar businesses?

A: I believe it's my experience and background in working with all sorts of individuals and companies while honing my career in the hospitality business. Also, I worked previously for a national destination management company where the projects were diverse, to say the least. That has helped me in dealing with whatever meeting, wedding or event that comes my way. Last, but certainly not least, I'm excited about Summit County and what it and all its resources can do for a beautiful and successful event.

Q: What types of customers do you hope to reach in Summit County?

A: Local and destination brides and their families and friends, along with small corporate and association groups coming into the county for meetings and activities.

Q: Why did you choose to open where you did?

A: Summit County is a popular place for weddings. Couples are simply looking for a mountain destination or, for some, the county holds great sentimental value to them because, for instance, they might have had their first date here. For corporate or association groups this is a great location because it's not that far from Denver, yet they are still experiencing the feeling of escaping and, therefore, are able to focus on their meeting or retreat.

Q: What are your plans for your company's future?

A: Possibly, someday in the future, Element Events might be split into two divisions, one being weddings and the other corporate groups.
