The Stars in Aspen

When you walk down the sidewalks in Aspen, it is easy to see why celebrities are drawn to the posh ski town. Every store is top designer with the exception of “The Gap.

It is the site for many celebrities’ homes and Christmas time is an especially popular time to ski and visit. So far this year, regular visitor Mariah Carey has been spotted walking around in five inch heels and just last week, supermodel Heidi Klum and husband Seal were harassed by a photographer outside of a jewelry store.

Sometime actress Melanie Griffith was spotted taking a smoke break with her 18-year-old daughter Dakota (with Don Johnson), and Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, along with Kate Hudson, are also ringing in the New Year in Aspen, as they do every year. Next year might bring even more celebrities to Aspen as the town has recently decided to crack down on paparazzi.

Wedding Bells

With each Christmas year comes surprise weddings and engagements in Hollywood.

This year it was “Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl, 29, and singer Josh Kelley, 27, who tied the knot in Park City, Utah. The Mormon actress met Kelley when she starred in his “Only You” video in 2005. Art imitated life and they wed in front of 80 people on Sunday, Dec. 23, including Heigl’s Grey’s Anatomy co-star’s T.R. Knight (who was a groomsman), Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers and Kate Walsh (now of “Private Practice”).

Additionally, “Las Vegas” star Josh Duhamel popped the question to his unlikely girlfriend Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. The two have been dating for about three years and his rep confirmed the engagement happened right before Christmas.

Sixteen and Pregnant

No, I am not referring to the title of a Lifetime movie. I’m talking about the latest drama in Britney Spear’s life, and for once y’all, it’s not about Britney! Brit’s little sister, Jamie Lynn, just revealed to OK! Magazine that she is about three months pregnant with boyfriend Casey Aldridge’s baby. The star of Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101” sat down with her mother and the magazine to talk about her pregnancy. Lynn Spears, who is ironically releasing a now postponed parenting book, commented on her daughter’s pregnancy, saying that she wants to be there to help her daughter as much as possible. Luckily, she has therapy powerhouse Dr. Phil McGraw to support her.

Oprah’s protegée recently told People magazine that Lynne Spears is a “great mother.” He elaborated by saying “an asset that Britney and Jamie Lynn both have is a great and dedicated mother.” If that’s what Dr. Phil thinks then maybe Lynne Spears should raise her grandchildren so that the world might be a safer place.

Baby Boom

Something must be in the air in Hollywood, as Jessica Alba also has confirmed that she’s expecting a baby next summer with her boyfriend of three years, Cash Warren.

The couple met on the set of the movie “Fantastic Four.” Additionally, singer Lily Allen just announced her pregnancy with boyfriend Ed Simons of the group The Chemical Brothers. Don’t necessarily expect a lasting relationship, though, as the couple have only been together since the summer. Look for more baby arrivals at the beginning of the year. Nicole Richie, Halle Berry and Christina Aguilera all look like they are ready to pop any day now.

Rumor Has It...

Reality TV show “The Hills” is about to get some New Year’s Eve drama! Most people who watch “The Hills” remember its predecessor, “Laguna Beach.” Well, the two shows and their stars are about to reunite and ring in the New Year together. It’s been rumored that MTV has arranged for Kristin Cavalleri, Lauren Conrad and Brody Jenner to celebrate at the same hotspot in Miami, The Setai. Hopefully this gets filmed because I wouldn’t want to miss this reunion!
