Print Comment
ALAMOSA — A search resumed Saturday morning for a Colorado State University employee missing after an avalanche in Alamosa County.

Two snowboarders also were missing on Wolf Creek Pass.

Lygon Stevens was hiking about 20 miles east of Alamosa with her brother, Nick, a CSU student, when an avalanche hit them Thursday morning near 14,345-foot-high Blanca Peak.

It took a day for Nick Stevens a day to hike out to where his cell phone would work, and he has been hospitalized.

Michael George and Kyle Kerschen were reported missing Saturday near the Wolf Creek ski resort about 170 miles southwest of Denver. Both are 27 and both are from Albuquerque, N.M. Their car was found in the ski area's parking lot. A search by the ski patrol and a helicopter has turned up no trace of either man.
