CLEAR CREEK COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be stopping traffic on Interstate 70 at Georgetown Hill on Monday, for rockfall mitigation work.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m. and continuing until about 5 p.m., traffic on eastbound and westbound I-70 will be stopped for 20 minutes, approximately twice an hour.
Westbound traffic will be stopped just east of the Georgetown interchange and eastbound traffic will be stopped at Silver Plume. Safety considerations require full traffic stops.
If adverse weather cancels Monday’s work, operations will be rescheduled for Tuesday.
Following Monday’s work, right lane closures of westbound I-70 will continue from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., through Thursday. Vehicles wider than 12 feet will not be allowed to travel through this area when the lane is closed.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in early April 2008.
