WINTER PARK The name of the skier who died after hitting a tree Saturday morning at thevWinter Park Resort has been released by the Grand County Coroners Office.
Gabrielle Hutter, 39, of Centennial, reportedly skied off the lower Mary Jane Trail and hit a tree Saturday morning.
According to Grand County Coroner Brenda Bock, the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
Hutter was not wearing a helmet.
Winter Park Resort reported that the woman was found on the ski trail at 9:02 a.m. Saturday.
Resort ski patrollers were in the area and went immediately to the unconscious woman.
The ski patrollers administered CPR while transporting Hutter to the Seven Mile Clinic at the base of Winter Park Resort.
Doctors pronounced her dead at about 9:30 a.m. The Fraser-Winter Park Police and the Grand County Coroner responded to the clinic.
Hutters next of kin have been notified.
