American Ted Ligety wins World Cup giant slalom title

BORMIO, Italy — Ted Ligety of the United States won the World Cup giant slalom title Friday by capturing the final slalom race of the season.

Overall champion Bode Miller led after the first run but missed a gate in the second and did not finish.
