Actress Halle Berry gave birth to her first child on Sunday in Los Angeles. Berry and her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry welcomed a baby girl, and in true Hollywood style, gave her quite a unique name: Nahla Ariela Aubry. Nahla means “honeybee” as well as “drink of water” in Arabic. Former Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye also just gave birth to her second child with husband Jason Goldberg. They gave their 2-year-old daughter, Poet, a sister (and a slightly more normal name). Jagger Joseph entered the world on St. Patrick’s Day weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

Comeback for Britney?

Despite all of the legal and family drama going on in her world, Britney Spears is going back to work and oddly enough, it’s on the popular CBS show, “How I Met Your Mother.” Spears will play a secretary at a dermatologist’s office on at least one episode beginning on Monday. Much to the surprise of the show’s regulars, Britney was great to work with and actually came off as a bit reserved. Members of the cast have been raving about Spears’ professionalism and unexpected normal behavior. Alyson Hannigan told Us magazine, “She was lovely ... so sweet and funny.” Cast-mate Cobie Smulders added that, “She was very professional and her comedic timing was great!” Acting isn’t entirely new to Brit. She starred in the movie “Crossroads” where her acting chops were crucified. Maybe television sitcoms are more suited for her. She guest-starred on “Will and Grace” two years ago and received surprisingly great reviews.

Can’t they just stick to acting

It doesn’t take much to have your own fashion line in Hollywood. You certainly don’t need to know how to design or sew because I can’t imagine that Katie Holmes knows how to do either. Following in the footsteps of BFF Victoria Beckham, as well as almost every other starlet (including Lindsay Lohan who is coming out with her own line of leggings), Mrs. Tom Cruise is coming out with a clothing label for Giorgio Armani. The line, called Katie Holmes for Armani, will initially be aimed for toddlers, using daughter Suri as inspiration and will debut in spring 2009 at stores such as Barney’s and Sak’s Fifth Avenue.

Not only are celebrities taking jobs from real fashion designers, they’re also robbing models of their limelight. It’s impossible to turn the pages of a magazine and not see a celebrity glaring back at you with their face painted on by Cover Girl. Stars such as Drew Barrymore, Halle Berry and Beyonce are just a few of the dozens who are spokespersons for a popular brand or designer. The latest addition to the bunch is recently rehabbed actress Eva Mendes. Mendes, from “Hitched,” and “We Own the Night,” is the new face of upcoming Calvin Klein underwear and fragrance ads. Another familiar face is also starring in his own underwear and it’s not Brad Pitt. Charlie Sheen, better known for his messy personal life than his acting, will co-star with Hanes regular Michael Jordan in upcoming ads.

Naomi Watts and boyfriend of three years, Liev Schreiber, have wed. The actors, who have a baby boy, Alexander Pete, were recently spending time in Australia where the nuptials supposedly occurred. Upon arriving back in L.A., Watts was sporting a large diamond (engagement) ring and another band (wedding) on her ring finger. Watt’s rep responded by saying “I don’t comment on her personal life” which translates to “Yes, they got married but you didn’t hear it from me” ... Are the queen of pop and her husband on the rocks? Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been fighting off rumors of divorce for a while but recently the couple have been fueling these rumors as they haven’t been seen together in months. Ritchie was noticeably missing at Madonna’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as her big 50th birthday party.
