BRECKENRIDGE — In 2007, the Riverwalk Center located in downtown Breckenridge, decided to end a 15-year run and no longer use a tent to cover the facility. Instead, the Town of Breckenridge is building a permanent hardshell covering. The National Repertory Orchestra and Breckenridge Music Festival will continue their seasons at the renovated venue beginning this summer. However, more acts may be booked there throughout the year.
The hardshell covering will improve the acoustics, temperature and lighting within the building, according to director of communications for the Town of Breckenridge Kim DiLallo.
The Summit County community told the Town of Breckenridge it wanted this permanent structure by way of fundraising to the tune of more than a million dollars.
The deadline for completion is June, when the National Repertory Orchestra musicians will begin to rehearse and perform in the space.
