KEYSTONE A 42-year old Kansas man was pronounced dead at the Keystone Medical Center on Sunday morning raising the total number of skier deaths in the county this year to eight.
The previous record for skier deaths in a year was seven, which had not been broken since 2002.
The skier, whose name was not released by the resort, was involved in an accident on Frenchman, an intermediate trail at Keystone Resort. The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The accident was called in at approximately 11:15 a.m. and Keystone Ski Patrol provided life support before transporting the patient to the Keystone Medical Center.
