SUMMIT COUNTY — Police responded to a domestic disturbance call from two individuals who claimed their roommate “went crazy” and began banging on all the walls of the house.

Officers found the “crazed” individual laying on his bed inside the house. The man’s speech was slurred and he appeared intoxicated but once he agreed to calm down officers realized that no crime had been committed and they proceeded to leave the scene.

Twenty minutes later police were called back to the same residence where the two individuals again informed the officers that their roommate had gone crazy, this assaulting the two individuals by violently shaking them.

Police found the man sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette. Officers told him he was being placed under arrest but the man refused to move from the couch after being told several times to stand up.

After refusing to comply after several minutes an officer sprayed the man with pepper spray but he continued to sit on the couch and smoke his cigarette.

Police gave the man one last chance to respond to the requests and get on the ground and when he still refused to do so an officer deployed a Tazer gun to the man’s back.

After being tazed three separate times, officers were finally able to get the man to the ground where he was handcuffed and taken out of the house on a backboard with soft restraints.

The man was combative all the way to the Summit County Jail where he was charged with Third Degree Assault and Resisting Arrest.

It’s almost amazing that the man was able to continue smoking a cigarette after being doused with pepper spray and Tazed numerous times.

Drunk driver cruises through town without back wheel

SUMMIT COUNTY — It didn’t take long for police to realize the man swerving through town with a missing rear wheel and no headlights was intoxicated.

Police caught up with the driver after the vehicle was found in a ditch on the side of the road. The man who exited the driver side claimed he had only had four beers but could barely walk when it came time to exit the vehicle.

When asked why he was driving without a rear wheel the man responded with extremely slurred speech that he had hit a sign and was “just trying to get home.”

After handing police an expired insurance card, dispatch advised the officers that the man’s license had been revoked for previous alcohol convictions.

The man was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Restraint, No Proof of Insurance, Reckless Driving and Unsafe Vehicle .

While being transferred to the Summit County Jail the main spontaneously uttered to the officer driving, “Thanks for getting me off the road, I’m in no condition to drive.”

The officers couldn’t help but agree.

Man ignores police to down some shots

A routine traffic stop turned into a small standoff when a car that coasted through two stop signs refused to stop for police.

Despite the fact that the sirens were blaring the vehicle proceeded to drive to a private residence where the male driver quickly exited the vehicle and went into the home. Police ordered the female passenger back into the vehicle and called for backup when the man driver refused to return to the car.

After only several seconds inside, the man returned to the car holding a paper coffee cup in his hand. When asked by an officer why he went inside the man said he had to let his dog out and had taken two shots of tequila.

Police found it perplexing that the man had the ability to take two shots in under 15 seconds and asked if he had been drinking before he ran two stop lights.

The man claimed he had only had two beers before picking his girlfriend up from work and refused to take roadside sobriety test, citing that he would be over the legal limit since he had just taken two tequila shots.

The man was charged with Failure to Stop at a Sign, Careless Driving, DUI Per Se and Obstructing a Police Officer.
