SUMMIT COUNTY Earth Day may be over, but Earth Week continues through Saturday with Summit Countys Annual Earth Day Action Fair.
The fair, set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Frisco Community Center, located at 3rd and Granite in Frisco. This free event highlights everyday actions that we can all take to help create a cleaner, healthier environment.
The Earth Day Action Fair is sponsored by Alpine Bank and is hosted by a consortium of local nonprofits including, the High Country Conservation Center, Blue River Group of the Sierra Club, Continental Divide Land Trust, Blue River Watershed Group, and the Keystone Science School.
As the saying goes, every day should be Earth Day, noted High Country Conservation Center director Carly Wier, but we can all use a reminder and some information about how to incorporate environmental action into our everyday lives.
The Earth Day Action Fair displays more than 20 different booths from local nonprofits and environmentally-friendly businesses, kids activities, workshops, the annual Green Scene Awards, and even a Recycled Fashion Show to close the day.
Event participants, including both adults and children, can win a variety of great door prizes by playing Earth-O and visiting each of the booths. Door prizes range from a Green Cleaning Kit to recycled crafts.
For more information, please call the High Country Conservation Center at (970) 668-5703.
