FRISCO - During the past couple months, details of the changeover at Bristlecone Health Services have been ironed out, and soon the community will have the opportunity to learn about it.
Bristlecone Community Forum will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Summit Community and Senior Center. There, the public will have the opportunity ask questions and hear the update since Centura Health at Home acquired the agency. The CEO of Centura Health at Home, Erin Denholm, is planning on attending, along with other officials.
"It's a chance to let people know about all the good things going on," said Susie Tombs, Centura Health at Home marketing director. She also added, "We've hired more staff and we've taken on a lot of new patients."
At the beginning of March, Centura Health at Home acquired the organization that provided home care, hospice, bereavement counseling and other services in the county for more than 25 years. During the transition, officials with Centura said they will continue Bristlecone's legacy in the community as well as add new services. And they kept the name the same.
Recently, representatives of Centura Health at Home attending a Board of County Commission meeting to give an update.
"I think they were generally pleased to hear the improvement Bristlecone has made in commitment and level of service," assistant county manager Steve Hill said after the morning worksession April 22.
In the past, the county discounted the space where Bristlecone is in the Medical Office Building in Frisco. They continued the reduced rate lease during the transition and planned to work with Centura to determine if that would continue.
Decisions about whether Bristlecone will stay in its current location or move were still being worked out, however, the company plans to know by the public forum, Tombs said.
