<b>Governor’s summer job hunt kicks off 2008 season</b>
Every year at this time, Workforce Centers across the state offer the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt, a free service that connects youth (ages 16-21) with summer employment opportunities. With one of the largest employment databases in the state, the Workforce Center is a great starting point for all job seekers, teens and adults alike.
But the Frisco Workforce Center says that the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt offers much more than a job bank. “The goal isn’t just to find any job, it’s about finding the right job — and getting it,” Frisco Workforce Center says. “We can help you find a job that matches your particular skills and interests. You also need to know how to win over a prospective employer by making a good impression in a job interview. We’re here to assist with all of that — from finding the opportunities to creating an effective résumé and landing the job. We don’t just get teens a job, we give them the tools and self-confidence to be successful.”

<b>The Breckenridge Mountain Rotary Club Announces Charter</b>
BRECKENRIDGE — The Breckenridge Rotary Club is excited to announce the chartering of their new club. The group will be hosting a celebration Gala on Saturday, May 31st at 6 p.m. in the Independence Ballroom of Main Street Station. Tickets are $100 per person. The formal evening will feature dinner, a ceremony and live entertainment. Free parking is available underneath Main Street Station, which is located at 505 S Main St., Breckenridge. Reserve your seat today by calling (970) 547-3205. Proceeds from the event will be contributed to Rotary International’s worldwide polio eradication program.
The Breckenridge Rotary Club held their 1st annual Chilly Chili Cook-off in January. The event was a huge success with more than 25 chili entries. The second annual Chilly Chili Cook-off will be held on January 8th, 2009, immediately following the Ullr Fest parade.
The group, which was officially chartered on March 13, has about 30 members and continues to grow. President Gary Green says his goals for the next year include “developing more structure, stability, steady growth and lots of energy.” The Breckenridge Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon at Fatty’s Restaurant in Breckenridge.
Rotary is a worldwide organization that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. As signified by the motto “Service Above Self,” a Rotarian’s main objective is volunteer service — in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world.

<b>Summit’s High Altitude Wellness Series on “Mindful Eating for Enhanced Wellness”</b>
SUMMIT COUNTY—The Summit Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with St. Anthony Summit Medical Center and other community partners, presents the third program of the Summit’s High Altitude Wellness Series on Tuesday, May 20, 6-8 p.m. in the Fremont Room, Summit County Community & Senior Center, 0151 Peak One Blvd., Frisco.
Dr. Jannine Walldan, N.D. L.Ac. of Sacred Tree Holistic Health Care Center in Breckenridge and Sacred Tree Retreats at Blue Sky, will build upon the information presented in the last seminar on how to eat healthy with an emphasis on foods that aid in boosting the immune system and work synergistically with the body to prevent disease. Dr. Walldan emphasizes that “moods can be closely related to our diet and dietary habits. Conditions such as blood sugar imbalances, protein deficiencies, antioxidants, as well as fiber deficiencies can all affect the mood differently.”
The educational program series offered bi-monthly continues to focus on health related topics of interest to employers, employees and their families. The sessions are FREE and open to the community at large. Colorado Mountain College provides professional development credits to attendees. The collaborative program represents the public, private and nonprofit sectors involved in related programs and initiatives focused on sustaining a “healthy community.”
