Eggleston, 68, passes away

Judith Ann Zuelsdorf Eggleston passed away on May 8 at the Life Care Center of Evergreen after a courageous 28-year battle with cancer. She was 68.

She was born April 28, 1940, in Green Bay, Wisc., the daughter of Herbert Frederick and Viola Anna (Waite) Zuelsdorf. She married Jerry Franklin Eggleston, U.S. Air Force, in Green Bay on Aug. 24, 1963.

Judy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

She accompanied her husband on tours in Wisconsin, Japan, Colorado, Virginia, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. She was active in Officers’ Wives Club activities, especially bowling.

A lifetime bridge player, she also enjoyed mah-jongg, crossword puzzles, afternoon soaps, the Packers, the Broncos, and the Rockies. She enjoyed traveling, site seeing, and reunions. Especially enjoyable vacations were the two long trips she made to the west with her family while in her teens, Hong Kong, the Canadian Maritimes, and the eastern Caribbean. She also enjoyed giving the Lomax Placer Mine tours for the Summit Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of Breckenridge; sons David Franklin Eggleston of Glendale, and Thomas Andrew Eggleston of Beavercreek, Ohio; and a brother, Robert (Elaine) Zuelsdorf of Kissimmee, Fla.

Funeral services were held in Littleton, and burial was in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Littleton.

Donations in Judy’s name may be given to the American Cancer Society.
