IDAHO SPRINGS — _ Colorado Department of Transportation officials are reopening the road leading up to Mount Evans.
Colorado 5 leading up to the summit of the 14,264-foot peak, which had been closed for the season, will reopen Friday at 7 a.m.
Transportation officials expected the road to remain open, weather permitting, until Sept. 2 when it will be closed.
