Papa Mali performs at 6:45 p.m. on Friday at the Riverwalk Center as part of the Breckenridge Town Party.
BRECKENRIDGE — Breckenridge Town Party returns to the new Riverwalk Center on Friday from 4-9 p.m. This annual rite of summer will mark the grand re-opening of the Riverwalk Center. All are invited to watch the ribbon cutting and dedication at 6:30 p.m.
The swamp funk, back porch blues of Papa Mali headlines this annual kickoff to summer at 6:45 p.m. Funky soul jazz New Orleans Heard featuring Kid Merv will start the party at 4:30 p.m. Both bands will perform in the new Riverwalk Center, and the rest of the party will be “tailgating style” in the Riverwalk Center (Tiger Dredge) parking lot, since the lawn has been recently re-seeded.
There will be food and drink available for a fee; note that personal/outside alcohol will not be allowed into the event. No pets are allowed. Admission is free and open to the public.
The town photo will be taken at 5:40 p.m. from atop the Red, White & Blue ladder truck. KSMT – The Mountain will offer prizes, giveaways and contests. For the kids in the crowd, there will be a petting zoo in the Riverwalk Center parking lot and other activities.
The Town Party also features the annual Breckenridge Resort Chamber Friends Welcome awards for Business of the Year and Outstanding Employee of the Year.
The Friends Welcome program recognizes exceptional guest service in employees and businesses throughout Breckenridge.
