The Blue River Watershed Group and Friends of the Lower Blue River are teaming up to provide a public forum on Thursday on water use and development in the Lower Blue.
Topics will include possible projects like a Green Mountain pumpback that would shunt water from Green Mountain Reservoir back to Dillon Reservoir through a pipeline, and the potential for a new Western Slope reservoir near Wolcott.
Forum participants will include Trout Unlimited, Blue Valley Ranch, Maryland Creek Ranch, the Middle Park Conservancy District, Colorado River District, and kayaking, fishing and rafting interests.
Speakers include Democratic State Sen. Dan Gibbs of Silverthorne, Democratic State Rep. Christine Scanlan of Dillon and the Colorado River Water Conservation District's Jim Pokrandt.
The forum at the Silverthorne Pavilion will include an open house from 7 – 8 p.m. and a speakers’ forum from 8 – 9 p.m. Drinks and appetizers will be available.
