New Summit County radio station We are very excited about Summit County’s new station at 90.3 FM and starting August 1, we will be on 100.7fm as well. It is called Mountain Public Radio, and is a nonprofit, noncommercial, community station with an emphasis on information, action, arts and education. We are the first to report news as it happens, with local news every half-hour and National AP news every hour, weather every 15 minutes and road and traffic reports every 30 minutes. We play music from the 50s through today, with genres including oldies, classic rock, motown disco, jazz, classical and country. Something for everybody. A really great mix!. We have interviews daily with everyone from the Summit County Sheriff, the Denver Water Board, the County Commissioners and the people of the Summit Stage to best selling authors and Denver doctors. We have a weekday morning show with Murray and Shannon B., weekly call-ins with the Colorado Workforce Center telling us about local jobs available, and also the Summit County Animal Shelter telling us about pets available for adoption. We have a High Altitude Gardening Show with John from Alpine Gardens and a Computer Show with Phil from the Frisco Marina, also a swap-shop show brought to us by Sanders TrueValue and a weekend News in Review show as well. Some other members of Mountain Public Radio are Hudson Auto Source, Greers Appliance Center, Heavenly Times Hot Tubs and Billiards, Discount Carpet Outlet, Silverthorne Power Sports, Henry Barr-realtor, George Osborne-State Farm and Murphy’s Wine and Spirits.
