It’s all about water quality

The Town of Blue River has requested to be annexed into the now Breckenridge Sanitation District.

A petition has been circulated to property owners and eligible voters in Colorado to show support for this initiative.

A vote will be held in December 2008.

As a former board member of the Breckenridge Sanitation District, I can tell you that Breckenridge Sanitation is a separate entity and has no affiliation to the Town of Breckenridge.

To further emphasize this distancing, the Breckenridge Sanitation District will be changing its name to the Upper Blue Sanitation District.

This will allow the Sanitation District to engineer a master plan for sewer lines within the Town of Blue River.

The Town of Blue River is nearing build-out status and with every additional leach field that is built, the more it becomes evident that we are probably nearing our saturation point in conjunction with our well water.

I know of an incident where a well had been tainted due to a saturated leach field.

I support this initiative for sewer inclusion for the Town of Blue River essential for our water quality in the years to come as more and more leach fields begin to fail.

This is really a “no brainer.”

This is all about well water quality.

This inclusion is at NO cost to the residents and property owners of Blue River.

I ask you to support this inclusion and with your support we will be securing the future quality of our well water for years to come.
