Pictured is a painting by Ed French, who will have a booth this weekend at the Gathering at the Great Divide Art Festival in Breckenridge. French works in oils, acrylics, watercolors and bronzes. The artist recently travelled to Alaska above the Arctic Circle to research and sketch for his paintings. French is based 45 miles southwest of Colorado Springs and is currently working on pieces featuring a jaguar, grizzly and polar bear.

BRECKENRIDGE — The summer of art in the High Country concludes with the 33rd annual Gathering at the Great Divide, the longest running art festival in Breckenridge over Labor Day weekend, taking place Saturday through Monday at North Main Street and Wellington Road in Breckenridge.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. Admission is free.
The show will feature more than 140 artists with a wide array of mediums including photography, sculpture, wood, jewelry, glass, painting and ceramics. For more information visit
