Northcom ramps up emergency response for Gustav

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE — The U.S. Northern Command is ramping up emergency response teams as Hurricane Gustav spins toward the Gulf Coast.

Northcom said Friday that three military bases have been designated as staging areas for emergency supplies and equipment: Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., and Naval Air Station Meridian, Miss.
