Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church has chosen a new music director, Leonard Rhodes, who will move with his wife, Sandy, to Summit County from Colorado Springs.
Rhodes is a pianist, organist, teacher, lecturer, author, composer, arranger and musical director. He is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and the London College of Music.
His affiliations include the Incorporated Society of Musicians (UK), The Royal College of Organists (UK), ASCAP (USA), Colorado Composers Forum, the American Guild of Organists, and the Music Teachers National Association. He is also Founder and Executive Director of Pikes Peak Young Composers, Inc., a Colorado nonprofit organization that is internationally recognized for its work with composers in grades K-12.
As a pianist and organist, he has performed throughout the world on the concert stage, in churches, cathedrals, and private functions.
In the USA, Rhodes has served in numerous councils and academic assignments which included teaching History of Music at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
It has been our long-term goal to move to Summit County, Rhodes said. We are thrilled to be part of Lord of the Mountains and to participate in its dynamic ministry.
Rhodes first service was Sept. 7.
