DENVER — The FBI is seeking two men suspected of committing three Denver-area bank robberies and of trying to rob another bank on Monday.
The men are believed to have staged three robberies in August, including two holdups of a US Bank branch on West Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. A North Valley Bank branch in Denver’s Federal Heights district also was hit.
On Monday, two men fitting the description of the suspects in the earlier incidents handed a note to a teller demanding money at a Chase Bank branch in Arvada. The men fled without stealing any money, the FBI said in a statement.
The robbers are both believed to be white males or Hispanics, between 20 and 30 years old and up to 5 feet 11 inches tall. Both wore baseball caps during the robberies, and one may have a slight mustache, the FBI said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at (303) 629-7171.
