Special to the Daily
SILVERTHORNE — The Silverthorne Pavilion is the venue for a free and family oriented mini-Oktoberfest with dancing to traditional polkas, waltzes and marches with the Summit Concert Band on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.

Among the costumed fun and games are a Crazy Chicken Dance contest, lessons on polka and sing-alongs.

The Summit High School Jazz Band will also perform.

Refreshments include Paulaner Oktoberfest beir, authentic Austrian food and pretzels.

This event is a fundraiser for both the Summit Concert Band and the Summit High School instrumental music programs. Paulaner beer sales, a raffle and donations will help the Summit Concert Band to cover operating expenses and provide music and instruments for the high school.
