Good morning and welcome to Summit Up, the worlds only daily column that feels like there is nothing better than going out to breakfast.
In case you havent heard, breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day and going out for a hearty fuel-up can really set the tone for the rest of the days activities.
Growing up, going out to breakfast was reserved for very special occasions and usually entailed a stack of chocolate chip pancakes and huge glass of orange juice.
If we were lucky, we would sometimes be allowed to get chocolate milk and we couldnt help but feel like we were getting away with eating desert first as we washed down chocolate chips with even more chocolatey goodness.
You can really never go wrong with breakfast food either.
Eggs over easy, poached, scrambled, in an omelet, or covered in cheese... There really is something for everyone.
The sizzle and pop sounds of bacon cooking on a griddle is an excellent way to greet the morning, and we dont even feel bad about licking the grease from our fingers before we wash it all down with a steaming cup of coffee.
We have been going out to breakfast a lot recently and, although it is becoming somewhat of an expensive habit, we really feel it is the best way to start the day.
Its become almost a routine of sorts, meandering down Main St. guided only by our nose. Once the smell of fresh coffee or pastries wafts in our direction, we immediately make a bee-line for the source, stopping only to pick up a paper on our way in the door.
Yes, it is our favorite meal. If given the opportunity, breakfast food would make up our entire diet, and we dont even think we would get sick of it.
After cruising the Internet, we realized that breakfast aficionados are a passionate group of people and there are even entire websites dedicated to those who take their love to the next level.
Some woman named Susan in Wisconsin transformed a closet in her kitchen to hold up to 60 different kinds of cereal, and she claims she eats three bowls a day, sometimes even more. Now that is dedication.
And then there are those who have taken breakfast in bed to the next level by keeping a toaster on the bedside table and a juice squeezer on the dresser.
Although it sounds comfortable, we will stick to having our breakfast at the table because maple syrup can get awfully sticky if spilled on the sheets.
Our love of breakfast is a little ironic given that we dont consider ourselves a morning person in any way, and on the days when we dont want to get out of bed, the thought of hashbrowns covered in hot sauce always motivates us to get going.
We also heard a little rumor that Breckenridge resident Jay Dale celebrated a birthday on Sunday.
As much as we would love to embarrass him and print his age, we will refrain and simply wish him the best. Happy belated birthday, Jay!

We out on this Monday, artfully stacking the jelly packets as we peruse the breakfast menu.
