SUMMIT COUNTY — Homeowners interested in Hunter Douglas window decor won’t have to work from catalogs or drive for hours to purchase window treatments.
BigHorn Interiors in Silverthorne held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, celebrating the addition of a Hunter Douglas Gallery to the store’s interior-design firm.

By opening the only Hunter Douglas Gallery in the county, a showroom and installation business specializing in window treatments and coverings, BigHorn Interiors owner Mike Kerrigan expects people to come from all over to view samples and interior lifting systems.

According to Saul Herbert, the window-covering specialist at BigHorn Interiors, it’s a big deal for local people doing renovations on their homes, as they no longer have to travel to Denver or Grand County for the Hunter Douglas Gallery brand.

The new Silverthorne gallery will showcase the entire Hunter Douglas line of products and customers will be able to view and operate the large range of products in person.

According to Herbert, the new gallery will provide customers with hard treatments — meaning blinds, anything with strings, products that go up and down and side to side — not curtains.

“It’s anything that is more solid in the window,” he added about their new product line.
BigHorn Interiors will even offer shutters through the gallery, which increases the value of the home, Herbert said.

The local interior-design firm recently underwent training and certification with Hunter Douglas in Broomfield on how to install window coverings and the full product line.

“Only select dealers are invited,” Kerrigan said of his business becoming an authorized Hunter Douglas Gallery dealer.

“It’s fully installed and ready to roll now,” Herbert said of Tuesday’s gallery opening. “(Customers) have the chance to touch and feel. They have a good idea of what they’re getting.”

And BigHorn’s new gallery caters to everyone, Herbert said. “Any scale, any budget, any homeowner.”
