The Mountain Travel Symposium is hosting a three-part web workshop designed for destination mountain-travel and tourism-industry professionals.
Presented weekly, these web workshops offer a convenient way to gain insight into the ever-changing industry without leaving the comfort of ones office.
The first workshop will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and will tackle the topic Emerging Lifestyles and Travel Trends: Implications for the Future of Mountain Resort Marketing Now and Down the Road presented by Peter Yesawich of YPartnership.
This session will include highlights from two of Ypartnerships widely-acclaimed surveys: The National Travel Monitor and The Portrait of Affluent Travelers.
It will preview the emerging travel habits, preferences and intentions of leisure travelers interested in visiting mountain resorts, and teach how these insights will help tourism professionals prepare for the upcoming season and enhance the effectiveness of future marketing strategy.
Yesawich is a frequent commentator on travel trends in major print and broadcast media outlets including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek and Business Week, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC and NPR.
The second session, to be held Oct. 21, will feature Mike Boyd, president of the Boyd Group, discussiong the airline industry in 2008.
A third session will be held Oct. 29 and will feature Ralf Garrison, the principal behind the Mountain Travel Research Project, giving a 2008-09 outlook on market forces and indicators.
