Those who saved my daughter: thank you!

Print Comment
I wanted to take this “later than never” opportunity to thank everyone involved in Melissa’s rescue. Dr. and Mrs. Henson were a godsend for her and our family. I did get a chance to meet Mrs. Henson at the hospital in Denver and she was of great assistance even through Melissa’s recovery. My husband and I live in Delaware and when we received the call from our son Matt, on the night of the accident, I truly was not sure things would turn out this way. You read so many stories where people ignore “sounds in the night.”

I would like to thank all the police and emergency medical people for their strength and efforts, as well. We moved Melissa out of the mountains after her release from the nursing home where she completed her recovery. She is back to work, but the seizures seem to still be an issue. She has almost complete use of both hands with limitations on “making a fist” but can take care of her immediate needs. Melissa is a strong young lady who had previously recovered from a 12-hour acoustic neuroma brain surgery, which is the reason for the medical issues she lives with now.

I was told that the Hensons were to receive an award for their heroic efforts and I truly hope that occurred. Again, thank you from a mom thousands of miles from her daughter.
