A unique approach to parenting that involves quantum physics will be offered through presentations in the coming weeks.

“Most popular psychology focuses on the child and trying to change or fix the behavior of the child,” Jolina Karen said. “We see every member as interconnected, and every person playing a role that ultimately keeps the family system ... the homeostasis.”

Karen is a certified teacher of the Demartini method. She said the parenting model is based on ideas central to this approach.

The Demartini method “is a foolproof and effective means of transformaing any form of stress or conflict into grateful states of love and vitality,” according to www.drdemartini.com.

It is based on research into a variety of fields including physics, psychology, astronomy, neurology and mathematics, according to the website.

Karen said the parenting approach involves changing the perspective on relationships, rather than simply parents trying to change the child.

“It actually puts the ball back in the parents’ court and enables them to feel much more powerful at having influence on their children that is effective,” she said.

Karen has conducted workshops using the method in England and South Africa in addition to the United States. She has a private practice that includes personal and professional development, relationship management and health issues.

The presentation this week will be Wednesday at The Open Book in Frisco, at 6 p.m. Another will be Oct. 21 at D’Vine Wine in Silverthorne, at 7 p.m.

A hands-on workshop titled “Quantum Loving for Parents” on Oct. 25 will follow the presentations. It will last 12 hours and cost $350 per person, or $600 per couple.
