SUMMIT COUNTY — Skiers and riders should be able to enjoy top-to-bottom skiing at Copper Mountain a week earlier than expected this season, as the resort announced Thursday that it will open Nov. 7.

“We want to give our guests as much value as possible and make sure they get the most out of their season passes,” said resort spokesman David Roth, promising a top-notch ski experience for opening day.

Keystone and Breckenridge also are planning Nov. 7 openings

Roth said the plan is to have one of the main trails, most likely Main Vein, covered with man-made snow in time for the opener.

Crews already have put down a solid base on some of the terrain served by the E Lift, where various race teams will hold early-season training.

The resort is offering a 15 percent lodging discount with the purchase of tickets. Packages start at $99 per night.

Season pass sales are also under way at Copper, with four options, including the Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus, which allows unlimited skiing at Copper and Winter Park and six days at Steamboat. The unrestricted Copper season pass is on sale for $359.

More festivities are planned for Nov. 14–16, with the Lift Off celebration, featuring concerts, ski movies and gear demos
