SILVERTHORNE Comfort Dental in Silverthorne will hold its 25th annual Care Day on Christmas Eve, offering completely free dental services to anyone who is uninsured.
On the morning of Care Day last year, some 35 patients began waiting in line long before its start at 7:30 a.m.
Some people waited in the parking lot so they could be first, said Kay Robinson, a front-office receptionist. ... Last year was really kind of cool. We didnt have to turn anyone away ... and we met everyones needs.
Care Day patients are helped on a first-come, first-served basis. Patients will receive a variety of basic dental care from cleanings to extractions. More serious dental problems are handled on a case-by-base basis.
We do one free procedure, Robinson said. Most times, someone knows what needs to be done because theyve already been seen previously ... We hope that more people would come (this year), as its a free thing.
The office will accept patients from 7:30-11 a.m.
We saw a really wide range of age groups last year, Robinson said. Young kids, people in 20s or as old as 60.
Due to the financial climate, its expected to be a big year for free dental care.
Dentists John Rollow and Lorraine Loustalet will be on site for Care Day.
Each year, all Comfort Dental offices combined see approximately 2,000 patients for Care Day and give away approximately $500,000 in free dental services.
If youre willing to stand in line, its a great deal, Robinson said. ... Even if (people) come and they dont get everything done that they need, were here to continue their needs. We accept almost any insurance. We also have in-house programs to reduce fees.
For more information, contact Comfort Dental at (970) 262-2273. The office is located at 354 Blue River Pkwy.
