Lakeside Bowl and Billiards Rec Center thanks the Elks Lodge #2561 for donating a Free-standing Bowling Ramp that allows the disabled to enjoy bowling wheelchair bound, autistics, anyone with limited use of arms or legs.
The ramp may be used from a standing or sitting position; it is easy to use and line up. At the presentation ceremony, it was a pleasure to see it in operation, especially well demonstrated by a wheelchair bound Summit School student bowling for the first time. Bob Berwyn, Summit Daily reporter, was amazed, saying he couldnt do that as well.
Later, some disabled veterans participating in the Breckenridge Ski Spectacular were glad that this opportunity was available. Additionally, the ramp has proved a delight for small children. Now, families can bowl with their handicapped members and their small children. What a donation!
Come by and participate. It will bring a smile to your face just watching the joy of those who can now bowl.
