Trekking Western Mongolia is the next talk and slide show to be presented by the Friends of the Summit County Libraries.
This free talk is at 7 p.m. tonight in the Blue River Room of the North Branch Library, 651 Center Circle, in Silverthorne.
Suzanne Reed had always wanted to visit Western Mongolia, the part of that country that is mountainous and quite remote.
In June, her group of four began their 20-day journey, staying in tents and trekking the country with guides.
I thought what Id remember most was the beauty of the mountains of Western Mongolia, the scenery. And while it will always be in my memory, it was the people Ill remember most, Reed said. They are very hospitable, always inviting you to have tea or a meal.
The slide show is free, but donations are appreciated and help the Friends of the Libraries purchase books and other supplies. For more information, call (970) 468-5887.
