It is not often that an Italian style restaurant really impresses me. I think that we all consider ourselves as at least somewhat expert when it comes to critiquing Italian food. It is for this reason that I wanted to write a piece to the people of Summit County and tell you what a gem you have in the new restaurant Bagali's on Main Street, Frisco.
I went to Bagali's with my parents. Since I live in Greece, it is difficult for me to find American style Italian food. I never expected to find an establishment that combined the fresh ingredients that I have come to enjoy in Greece with a fine attention to detail and a wonderful complexity of flavors. My mother had the puttanesque sauce that was subtle and clean in taste complemented with some of the tastiest sausage I have had in a while. My father enjoyed the meatballs immensely as they were the perfect consistency and spiciness.
But the pizza, oh my goodness — the pizza. Crust that was light and flaky with just the right touch of butteriness. The sauce was an explosion of tomato and basil that gave a nice note to the cheese and sausage. This was the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life and I have subsisted on pizza for years, folks. I cannot recommend this dining experience enough. I am not a food critic nor do I have any experience in the food industry. In fact, this is the first time I have been compelled to write an article to a newspaper. I simply wanted to congratulate both the proprietor and Summit County on having such a nice place to eat in your area.
